ABOUT US

Protoculture is a Canadian incorporated company dedicated to the publication of the anime & manga magazine Protoculture Addicts. The current company is owned by Christopher Macdonald (Anime News Network) and Claude J. Pelletier, but the history of our publications goes back to November 1987.

Our main business is the publication of Protoculture Addicts, the anime & manga magazine, but we also have published Special Issues (PAX #1, Anime Shower Special #1-3, Poster-Zine #1), a few comics (Gates Of Pandragon #1 and Cybersuit Arkadyne #1-3) and have co-published the magazine Mecha-Press. In a previous incarnation (Ianus Publications Inc), we published a fanzine (Samizdat) and anthologies of Quebec Science Fiction in French.

We have also published the English version of the book Anime, A Guide To Japanese Animation.
