ZEONOGRAPHY #3001a:
JOHNNY RIDDEN'S CUSTOM MS-06R-2 ZAKU II

OK, this is an action figure, but, in view of all the assembly it takes to make any one of the two Zaku II versions proposed, this is nearly a kit! This is the first of a new Hajime Katoki action figure series, titled "Zeonography", which deals, unsurprisingly, with Zeon MS ("Gundam Fix" only deals with Federal Gundam MS). Both of these collections are supposed to be in 1/144, but I have doubts about this...

The figure we got (from HobbyLink Japan -- Thanks Scott!) is a superb rendition of Zeon MS ace Johnny Ridden's steed: A (very!) red Zaku II that can be switched back and forth to one of two versions, a standard MS-06 Zaku II or a heavily customized MS-06R-2 with different legs, left shoulder, back pack, etc. The paint job is magnificent (lots of tiny markings) and the figure comes with three sets of hands, a huge Bazooka, a Zaku rifle w/ rocket launcher attachment and a base on which you can firmly pin your figure. The only negative points are the switching between versions, which is rather hard to do for some parts (sticking those custom R-2 legs on the thighs was a BITCH!), and the price of this really cool little object: a whopping ¥3, 680! This makes it a luxury item (the packaging is so beautiful, it broke my heart to open it!), but, if you are a real Gundam fan and can afford it, you will not be disappointed!
